Terms of Service

Welcome to GeoRumble, a collaborative geography quiz played as a Discord Activity or in a browser. By using the game, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Eligibility and platform rules

• You must be old enough to use Discord under Discord's own terms, since the game runs on the Discord platform.
• When playing inside Discord you also remain bound by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Rules. Where those documents and these terms overlap, follow both.

Acceptable use

• Play fair: no automation, bots, scripts, or exploits to gain scores or disrupt rooms.
• Be decent to other players in names and behavior; rooms are shared spaces tied to real voice channels.
• Don't attack, overload, reverse-engineer for harm, or interfere with the service's operation or its infrastructure.
• We may rate-limit, refuse, or end access for conduct that breaks these rules.

Content and licenses

• The GeoRumble software, branding, and design belong to the project owner. All rights reserved except as needed for you to play.
• Map data in the shipped quiz packs is derived from public-domain sources (the us-atlas project). Geography is hard enough without copyright worries.
• Display names and usernames you submit are used solely to identify players in a room. You are responsible for the name you choose to display.

Availability

The game is offered free of charge, "as is" and "as available." We make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue any part of it at any time.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the project owner is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game, including lost game progress (it happens to the best of us) or data on your device. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

Your right to use the game ends if you breach these terms. We may suspend or block access to protect the service or other players. Sections that should survive termination (content ownership, liability, governing terms) do so.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued play after changes means you accept them.
